New Horizon Special School
New Horizon Special School, located in Accra, Ghana (West-Africa),
is a day school geared to serve children and adults who are intellectually disabled.
The school includes academic section provides basic education on an individual basis for children aged 4 -16 years. Sheltered Vocational Workshops give training and employment in vocational and daily living skills to those who are older.
140 children, teenagers and adults currently attend the school.
New Horizon Special School is a voluntary, non-profit making, non-racial, non-sectarian and charitable institution.
Philosophy:
AS ITS PHILOSOPHY, THE SCHOOL BELIEVES THAT EVERY CHILD WHETHER HANDICAPPED OR NOT, HAS THE RIGHT TO DEVELOP TO HIS OR HER FULLEST CAPABILITIES.
The school is registered with the Ministry of Education, Ghana, and has been legally registered as a voluntary, non-profit making organisation. It is
managed by an Executive Director and controlled by the Board of Govenors of New Horizon School Association.
