PACID GHANA Parents Association of Children with Intellectual Disability in Ghana
Parent Association of Children with Intellectual Disability (PACID- GHANA) is a non-governmental, not for profit, and non-political organization established in September 2001. It was as a result of a desperate cry for help by parents of children with intellectual disability. It was therefore established to lend support to the many parents and guardians of children having intellectual disability in Ghana.
PACID (GH) has a vision to become the largest parents association in Ghana, promoting the rights of children with intellectual disabilities and also advocating for policies and programmes that will serve their interest.
Who can join?
Relatives and guardians of people with intellectual disabilities, individuals and organisations interested in improving the welfare of people with intellectual disabilities.

The secretariat is currently at the New Horizon Special School, No. 20, 4th Circular Road, Cantonments, Accra Ghana.

PACID (GH) was founded by and organised by Mrs. Salome Francois in 2001 and initially funded by the DSI, Denmark (The Danish Council of Organizations of Disabled People).
Pacid is made up of parents, guardians, teachers, doctors and other professionals throughout Ghana. The main objectives of PACID (GH) are to spread
education, awareness and good news about children with intellectual disability.
